Educational Content Creator - Job Description

Future in Perspective is growing quickly, and we have created a new educational content developer role within our team. The main purpose of the role is to write, produce and design training and course materials for our diverse range of learners across many subjects. We work in Ireland and across Europe so you will have exposure to leading experts in a range of academic and professional fields. You will be developing training content that is fresh, current, and centred around our brand promise of educational innovation.

Our current assignments are focussed on entrepreneurship, climate action, mental health, coaching and talent management, social inclusion, rural development, and integration, therefore some experience in these fields would be advantageous; however, we will provide training and induction as required.

We have up to four full-time positions on offer.

Main duties will include:

  • Design, develop, author, narrate, record, edit, and implement innovative training content and e-learning including handouts, checklists, manuals, tests/quizzes, presentations, scripts, video, audio, etc.
  • Produce, edit, and deliver engaging training content using challenge-based, gamification and inquiry-based learning approaches for e-learning platforms and MOOCs.
  • Design and develop learning outcomes assessment activities, including assessment questions, scenarios, and simulations.
  • Proof-read and edit content for proper use of grammar, punctuation, style, and pedagogic guidelines.
  • Review and test content for accuracy and usability.
  • Deliver and attend training for 2 to 4 days per month to ensure material is effective and to improve current training portfolio.
  • Review and evaluate training materials and programmes as part of our continuous improvement quality programme.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Excellent English written skills required with working knowledge of referencing frameworks (Harvard, APA, etc.)
  • Strong research, writing, and training content development skills, with focused attention to detail with the ability to analyse, organise, and effectively communicate complex ideas through writing.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Word & PowerPoint.
  • Ability to quickly learn subject matter.
  • Resourceful in finding information and fact checking.
  • Multitasking skills and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Experience of working in project teams with proven ability to take initiative and to take ownership for work
  • Good attention to detail, technologically adaptable

Educational Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience gained in a relevant working environment.
  • Proven content development, research or writing skills. Samples of relevant work should be provided at application stage.

Terms of Employment

This is a 40-hours per week, full-time contract up to 31st May 2024 subject to the satisfactory completion of a probation period. The nature of the work may require EU travel as the scope of our work at European level.

Salary scale: €28,600 to €34,800 depending on skills and experience

The annual leave entitlement is twenty-five (25) days per annum, pro-rata for shorter periods. Entitlement to leave for Public Holidays is in accordance with the terms of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997. Future in Perspective is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
