Youth and Schools Trainer and Facilitator - 1 Position Available

We are offering the right candidate an exciting opportunity to join the company and make a value contribution to the local community of Cavan and the Northwest. One full-time position is available as a Community Outreach Trainer.

Role and Purpose

The Youth and Schools Trainer and Facilitator will work as part of our training team to collaborate with youth organisations, schools, young people, and students in the Northwest to promote our extensive training offer and to deliver interesting and engaging training workshops and events in schools and youth-work settings.

This is a varied role requiring good organisation and multi-tasking skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and training experience. This is a specified purpose contract of two years. The role will be based in Virginia, Co. Cavan and will require face-to-face work in Ireland and attendance at training events across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as an integral member of the Training and Implementation Team and play an active role in the design, marketing, and delivery of our educational and training programmes to youth organisations and schools (primary and secondary level)
  • Plan, promote and facilitate workshops, training sessions and events to target audiences, both on-line and in-person.
  • Test and pilot educational resources and materials with young people, students, trainers, youth work professionals and teachers
  • Deliver a range of well-organised and imaginative training workshops for a range of target groups within the local community
  • Arrange and facilitate small consultation groups at community level to conduct research and identify local training needs
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, target group members, adult learners and the wider community.
  • Contribute to the policy-making process of the company, including working together to develop policy positions through the Erasmus+ programme
  • Contribute to the effective communication of our training and education projects through online forums and attending external events, meetings, and workshops
  • Implement surveys and evaluation questionnaires to measure the impact of our training and learning activities.
  • Participate in continuous professional development training work in Ireland and in Europe throughout the year

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A relevant third level qualification in education and training, youth work practice, community development, rural development, or a related field is required.
  • Must have at least 2-years proven experience in preparing and delivery training sessions or workshops
  • Must have practical youthwork or schools expertise and experience (minimum of 3 years)
  • Relevant experience in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships at local and regional level.
  • Working knowledge of youth stakeholders and schools in Cavan and surrounding counties is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to meet targets and work to deadlines within a team setting.

  • Proven trainer and group facilitator comfortable working in both formal and informal learning environments
  • A good team player with enthusiasm, drive, friendliness and approachability.

  • Organisational skills and ability to multi-task is essential.

Terms of Employment

This is a fixed term full-time contract (40-hours per week) up to 31st December 2024 subject to the satisfactory completion of a probation period. The nature of the work may require working unsocial hours i.e. evenings and weekends plus EU travel. Given the outreach nature of the role, you must have access to own transport.

Salary scale: €33,800 to €39,200 depending on experience and qualifications.

All staff members are required to obtain Garda clearance as a condition of their initial and continued employment.

Leave: The annual leave entitlement is twenty-five (25) days per annum, pro-rata for shorter periods. Entitlement to leave for Public Holidays is in accordance with the terms of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997.  Future in Perspective is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
